waking up in vegas

waking up in vegas

What happens in Vegas ends up on the blog (am I right?). Whether you're heading out to Sin City for gambling, the big game, or a bachelor/bachelorette weekend - Vegas has got it all. I headed out to Las Vegas about two years ago for the TX/OU football game with my boyfriend and a large group of our friends. Our trip never lacked any excitement, even from the get-go. Not only did I miss out on spotting Childish Gambino at the Austin airport prior to boarding (it was the second weekend of ACL), I ended up sitting next to our pilot on the flight there (yep, just as confused as you are). This three day adventure started off with a bang, and ended just the same!

See & Do

Cirque Du Soleil | I highly suggest going to see Cirque du Soleil 'O'. This water themed production takes place above a 1.5 million gallon pool and features synchronized swimming + aerial and ground acts (anxiety at its' finest). It is absolutely incredible and so, so, mesmerizing.

Britney Spears | Because who doesn't want to see Britney, one more time?

Drai's Beach Club | Sitting atop the Cromwell, Drai's has the most amazing view of the Strip and the most delicious pina coladas. Grab a big group of friends and rent a cabana - you won't regret it.

The Forum Shops at Caesars | Look up (literally); the ceilings are absolutely incredible. This shopping wonder of the world is a must see! The landmark and hot spot is home to many amazing restaurants, specialty shops, and loads of beautiful art. Y'all, I was speechless walking through the Forum, but shopped my little heart out, regardless. It's a Simon Mall, so it has all your favorites right there at your fingertips.

Eat & Drink

Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Seafood | Located in Caesars Palace, this swanky seafood restaurant will leave you wanting more. I cannot describe how delicious our meal was y'all, but if you love seafood YOU. HAVE. TO. GO. Do me a favor and order the spinach stuffed mushrooms, seared sea scallops, the fried calamari, and my favorite - the macaroni & cheese. You'll thank me later.

Baacchanal Buffet | Ceasars Palace obviously knows what they're doin'. For around $50, you'll have access to an unlimited buffet that offers 500+ small dishes including but not limited to sushi, chicken and waffles, ice cream, eggs benedict, macaroons, sliders...I could go on for days. You also have the option to upgrade your ticket to get unlimited mimosas (count me in). I'll be honest, I spent about about 3 hours in this buffet, ate my weight in caramel apples, and had to be rolled straight out of there.

TAO | One of Vegas' best and highly acclaimed Asian restaurants lies within the Venetian hotel. Tao offers an array of Asian fare, an elevated dining experience for every customer, and your occasional celebrity sighting. We ordered almost everything on the menu - chicken satay, chicken gyoza, lettuce wraps, egg rolls, soy ginger glazed salmon, pad thai...the list goes on and on. If you find yourself in a large group, make sure you ask about including a TAO nightclub pass with your dinner.

Caesars Palace | Ceasars is located in the heart of the Strip and offers an abundance of things to do right there in the hotel. We had friends stay in a suite and it was perfect for the big group, especially a group that needs more than one TV to watch the Texas/OU game (hook em').

Bellagio | This was my home away from home for our trip, and it was beautiful. We had an awesome view of the Strip, perfect seats for the fountain show at the Bellagio, and easy access to our friends at Caesars. The Botanical Garden and the Fiori di Como (covers the lobby ceiling with over 1,500 pieces of hand blown glass) are bright, colorful, and absolutely gorgeous and a must see in Vegas!

We're always on the move, and we're doing our best to visit every state in this beautiful country of ours. Follow along to see where we go next! #ammeetspmtravels
