Austin's first absinthe bar, Péché, is hands down the best craft cocktail spot and always makes mean pre-Prohibition cocktails. They not only do they serve up the best spirits in town, they also satisfy any diner with their exquisite French cuisine. Some of our favorites are the french onion soup , mac + cheese (duck confit? done), escargot, and smoked salmon tartare (all on HH). Their cocktail menu has a mind of its' own and you can pretty much order anything your heart desires, including personalized cocktails (win, win). We love an Old Fashioned or Negroni any day, but their Fig Manhattan with a layer of fig foam is to. die. for. The New Orleans inspired ambiance paired with a classic cocktail makes for the best evening, am I right?
Happy Hour - Sunday + Monday all night, Tuesday-Friday 4-7PM // 1/2 off select food + $5 select cocktails
Ice cream + Liquor? We're in! Prohibition Creamery is the perfect spot for those with a major sweet tooth and lots a love for happy hour. This local, Austin creamery offers a vast array of alcohol infused ice cream and boozy cocktails, ranging from the super sweet Irish Coffee Milkshake to the more mild Sangria infused sorbet. The bartenders have a few off-the-menu specials up there sleeve, so we obviously started there (you should too). The Sangria Sorbet + Lambrusco is the perfect summer cocktail - cold, sweet, and refreshing. We also ordered the Tiramisu ice cream + Baileys - super sweet but the perfect nightcap after a long, long, day. Prohibition Creamery is sittin' pretty on East 7th Street and makes for the perfect spin on your favorite scoop or shake.
Happy Hour - Tuesday-Friday, 3-7 PM
Hmm, where do we even start? Grizzeldas, sister to Jacoby's, is one of the best new Mexican spots in town and it absolutely stole our hearts. Let's start with the decor - it is amazing. The beachy-chic accents and girly flair make for the best times, especially at happy hour. We love the marble table tops, silvery sequined pillows, pink glasses, colorful + trendy art, palm leaf wall paper, the list goes on! Second, the food is really great and the drinks are superb. We ordered the tostaditos + ceviché mixto from the happy hour menu, plus a few fro-mos, and our faves - the hot stepper and bad girl ri ri. Last but not least, Grizzeldas' house marg is one - on TAP, and two - PINK. Grizzeldas is what every girls dreams are made of.
