We love sushi, espeically when it's right around the corner at komé. This neighborhood spot, located on Airport + I35, offers an variety of contemporary-style Japanese dishes and incredibly fresh sushi. We absolutely love the wine and saké selections, especially the Snow Maiden and the  Ginjo. The saké cocktails are incredible! We suggest grabbin' an Okinawa Breeze (a Japanese spin on the classic mimosa) and the Kansai Mule (moscow mule with a twist - yum). Komé's happy hour is one of the best in Austin - apps (gyoza + komé fries + Japanese chicken wings) range from $2 to $5, rolls (Austin + crunchy dynamite = everything) are $4-$6, and all happy hour drinks are under $5.

Y'all HAVE to head over to komé for happy hour Monday - Thursday, 5-6 pm. You'll be oh so happy you did.

Ah Sing Den

We love a good cocktail bar just as much as the next gal, but Ah Sing Den definitely takes the Eastside cake. This fall, the Eastside Show Room transformed into this Asian inspired gem, named after a real Victorian-era opium den in London. The ambiance and decor are on point - dim lighting + round, turquoise, velvet couches + white marble tabletops have us swooning (seriously, it's gorgeous and incredibly inviting). The cocktails are delicious, and we love the Asian ingredients they use to put a twist on the classics. The Freya (mint + elderflower + rosé), Guyanese Sour (rum + grilled pineapple + cayenne chili syrup), and the Burmese Mission (gin  +lime + thai basil + clementine togarashi syrup) are a few we recommend, but anything you order will be amazing. Make sure to order a few apps (veggie bao + shrimp balls), or head over for dinner - the portions are there to please.

Swing by the Den for $6 classic cocktails every day of the week from 5-7 pm.

Bullfight, located right down the street from komé, is a traditional tapas spot that stays true to the Spanish roots. There are not many Spanish style restaurants in Austin, but this spot is one you want to savor. The open and warm atmosphere will invite any diner, especially one with a love for snacks, cured meats, and cheese (for us, cheese is basically a food group). Tapas are perfect happy hour bites, and they are one of the many reasons we love Bullfight. We enjoyed our evening on the patio with a glass of Sangria (red + fruity) and the Doña Rosa (cava + lavender + lemon) while snacking on the house cheese board (chef's choice of cheeses), bacon wrapped dates (best. ever.), and fried eggplant.

Enjoy 1/2 off Spanish style sips and snacks Monday - Friday, from 5-6:30 pm.

You know us - we love a good happy hour! Check back next month to see where we wined and dined on a dime.
